Victoria Park (Bakkabakkrandi)
Victoria Park (Bakkabakkrandi) is one of Adelaide’s major iconic public parks. Forming the eastern boundary of the CBD, Victoria Park is a widely used and much loved Public Park and major event space. Comprising of five cricket ovals, exercise tracks, walking trails and an extensive bicycle network, it is also home of the Professional Criterium Circuit, Australian International 3 Day Event, and also the Clipsal 500.
We were contracted to provide new landscaping to key areas of the Park including the Community Central Gardens, and new entry statements to Halifax Street and Grant Avenue. We also undertook extensive landscape and irrigation rectification works to an area of over 100,000m2, forming the Park 16 Southern playing fields.
Working closely with City Design (Adelaide City Council), Oxigen, and Environmental Consultants was critical for the success of this major project, as the site was governed by existing environmental factors including an former natural underground creekline , and rare Butterfly species habitat.
