Hazelwood Park Playspace

Situated in Adelaide’s leafy suburb of Burnside, Hazelwood Park is a seemingly endless public space with large grassed areas, towering Eucalypts and numerous amenities.

LCS Landscapes was invited by the City of Burnside and WAX Design to take part in the construction of a new play-space situated in an otherwise baron corner of the park. With great care we constructed the playground among the many established eucalyptus trees that populated the construction zone.

Meandering paths wove through the trees, across clatter bridges to a myriad of playground equipment, including a dual cable ride flying-fox, carousel spinners, talking tubes, Fibonacci balance beams, bird’s nest swing, space net, three bay swing, wombat carvings, disability elements, dinosaur fossils and a climbing mound with dual slide and large embankment tunnel slide tables. Benches and shade structures set among planted garden beds formed a comfortable backdrop for adults to socialise and supervise.
