PLAYFORD ROAD RESERVE

The site of the former Rostrevor Tennis Club has been passionately redeveloped with LCS at the helm for City of Campbelltown. The new Playford Road Reserve now offers a variety of facilities that better suits the needs of the local community, while remaining a hub for sports and recreation.

Construction included full demolition of the 6 existing tennis courts and clubhouse to make way for a new open lawn area, playground, tennis and multi-courts, shelter and BBQ, along with accessible pathways and automated toilet block. The new playground features climbing structures, a slide, a shaded carousel, balancing structures, and swings suitable for pre-school and school aged children, while the open space is suitable ball games and unstructured play.

Our highly experienced project team worked with Council to overcome some challenges with the design for the site and the drainage requirements, which required adjustment of proposed finish levels. Through collaboration with our client, and our vast knowledge of construction methodologies, we were able to both modify the finish levels saving costs on retaining, and future-proof the site by adjusting the court subbase/rubble depths which didn't initially meet the required standard depths, minimising the risk of surface failure within a location notorious for highly reactive soil.
