POLONIA RESERVE

Constructed by LCS Landscapes in 2023, the City of Port Adelaid Enfield’s Polonia Reserve transformation is a testament to innovation and heritage preservation. Born from the disruption caused by the South Road freeway to the Croydon Football Club’s original pitch, the area is now a multifaceted recreational hub at Regency Reserve.

Central to the Birdseye Studio design is a remarkable 7-meter soccer ball play sculpture by Iguana Creative, capturing the essence of the area’s soccer lineage tied to both the Polonia Soccer Club and the Croydon Football Club since the 1950s.

The reserve offers a plethora of activities, from an inclusive play array to a 3-on-3 basketball court and is equipped with supporting amenities like BBQ zones and restrooms. Historically, Polonia is rooted in the Karawirraparri floodplains, once a hub for indigenous activities and later, significant to the Polish Diaspora, hosting events like the Adelaide Polish Harvest Festival. The reserve’s sustainable design also serves as a stormwater detention basin, exemplifying a harmonious blend of functionality, history, and modern design.
